Staunton chess sets

High-quality Staunton chess sets

Staunton comes from the surname of Howard Staunton (1810-1874), a famous English chess player. After years of many chess piece designs worldwide, there was a need to create pieces that were easy to use and universally recognizable.

Nathaniel Cook designed this type of chess piece and named them after this English player. Today, they are the most widely used standard pieces worldwide, in both tournaments and competitions.

Although we have a completely unique and original design, we have drawn inspiration from this classic style to offer you internationally renowned chess sets.

Staunton chess sets crafted artisanally

In our artisan workshop, we mainly work with high-quality local woods such as boxwood and olive wood, sourced from nearby forests. Each wooden chess piece goes through a detailed handcrafted process, from raw wood to the final finished figure. Our hands shape every single piece with care and precision.

If you’re looking for a unique and meaningful gift, or want to treat yourself to a handcrafted chess set, you’re in the right place. Our chess sets combine tradition, design, and personality. With years of experience in woodturning and woodworking, we create pieces with soul and a deep respect for the game of chess.
